i am not proud to say i pay my federal income tax, but i don't live on any government subsidy, and i can proudly say that. the federal income tax i'm not proud of, because it just pisses me off. since getting a divorce, and having to file single i'm losing at least $400 bucks more a month that is seized, and sent directly to the federal government. that's just with my day job. my side business i haven't even done the math for that. aside from my ex wife's $365 dollar a month car payment my expenses haven't gone down. so i figure i gotta be losing $600 bucks more per month, and the extra 6.2 to social security, and 1.4 to medicare which i will never see that i have to pay for my self employed side business on the money i make with that. the money for her car payment i stopped paying right when we separated, and she moved out. actually she got a job about a month before we separated, and was paying it. i started filing single at the first of this year cause that's when we became legally separated, and later divorced this month. also did it in january so i didn't wind up owing more taxes for so many months because it didn't get straightened out in payroll.
$400 bucks more a month? that's my cable, internet, phone, water, and gas, and electric in a good month. in the winter forget about it it's more than that. i'm not complaining that i'm the only one, because i'm not. the ex wife wasn't a hearty eater, so the food bills didn't really decrease significantly. she was spoiled, but not so much the last two years we were together as work slowed down. so $400 bucks a month you know what i could do with that? that's almost what i buy a month in groceries! might spend a little more than that, but come on.
if the government wasn't in so much debt i wouldn't be complaining, but look at all the money they get from me! i can't understand this. one other ironic thing to me, and maybe i got it all wrong, but thinking about obama. his ''everyone should pay their taxes, and fair share'' rhetoric bs. why is it even a good number of people who actually do work aren't paying federal taxes? why all these loopholes, and credits that were never around before? the girl across the street who used to babysit my kid said she made not even $10 bucks an hour, and they were taking all kinds of money out of her check!
like i always said. the only help i would like from the government is gimme more of MY money that i MADE back. people still think i should pay more taxes too. i don't know how anyone can say this. we need less taxes so we can buy the things we need. alright rant over.
