Maryland Mandates "Environmental Literacy" as high school graduation requirement

I just saw this yesterday in the news feed of a FB paged I "liked" a while back...

So, they're going to shove all this tree-huggin eco-friendly go green bull**** down these kid's throats, but they won't make them be able to read, write or do math in order to graduate?? God damn libtards

Thoughts? Opinions?

Hey, no "actual mandate," "serve as a foundation for green jobs," the school board doesn't get funding, and the guidance comes from the North American Association of Environmental Education.

QUOTE: An early passage from the guide says “consumption of natural resources, air and water pollution, and the impacts of climate change are among the many complex challenges that threaten human health, economic development, and national security.” It goes on to talk about the need to "take informed action." And that raises some eyebrows.

Anyone else see a major issue with this?
The next generation can't read, write, do basic math without an i-phone, and now they intend to use what limited resources to push this crap. If I had kids in Maryland Public Schools, I'd be pulling them out right about now.

it won't be long before it spreads. other states will do it too. i have no problem with classes learning about the world, and environment, but the mandate is pretty ridiculous.

Thanks for the link Austin, I was in the middle of typing that when a buddy of mine called asking me to come help sling hay, so I kinda rushed it

I hadn't read into it too much, I just saw the headline today and wanted to see what y'all thought about it.
