Gov't assistance

Alright, I've got a little rant/gripe. I usually don't post in here but this irritates me. My wife has known this girl her whole life. They grew up together and were best friends up until they were about 13 years old. She (her friend) came from a decent family. Dad had a construction business, mom was a nurse. Fast forward about 14 years. Her friend had a baby about 2 years ago. She was premature. Now, she's a normal 2 year old child. A little small for her age but otherwise, in good health. Neither she or her husband have a job. She can't get a job because she went to jail for writing bad checks. Her husband can't get a job because about a year ago, he was sweeping the parking lot at his work. He "found" a bag of pills laying on the ground and picked them up because "he didn't want any kids to get a hold of them". On his way home that night, he got pulled over for speeding. The cop searched him (I've never been searched for speeding, even when I was doing 30 over and forgot to tell the cop that I had a gun in the glove box ) and found the bag of pills. Basically, they can't get jobs because they both have a criminal record. Anyway, they get a $600 a month social security check since their kid was premature 2 years ago. My wife finds out today that now they get an ebt card that gets $500 a month put on it. So basically, we're giving them $1,100 a month because their kid was premature 2 years ago and they screwed up their lives by getting in trouble with the law. I have a real problem with that. I also have a problem with the fact that they've borrowed money from us (the wife and I), haven't paid us back, come in the bank that my wife works at, bragging that they got a $6k tax refund, and not even offer to pay back the 10 measly dollars that they borrowed 4 months ago because their baby didn't have diapers. Did I mention that she had a pack of Marlboro cigarettes in her pocket when she came over here to borrow the money? (They both smoke; she smoked while she was pregnant with her child which I'm sure had something to do with why she was premature) Anyway, I've finally gotten my wife to understand that I will put my foot in her *** if she ever gives her anymore money. She says it's hard to tell her no since they were such good friends for so long. I understand that, but it's not like they're making any kind of effort to better themselves. It just makes me mad that I bust my butt to have the things I've got, and they sit around and draw $1,100 a month from all of us for the mistakes that they've made. The government needs to do something about these kinds of things...

I'm not saying that $1100 a month is a lot of money, but it's $1100 more a month than they deserve

and people wonder why the gov has no $$. instead of raising taxes, the gov should kick these kinds of bozos off of welfare, force them to pay taxes. then the gov would be swimming in $$.

Hey i feel you dude My sister got knocked up like when she was 17 wont work gets GOV check for that one then a year later she gets knocked up again by another guy who is also a felon like the first dude he get locked up for drugs again and now she gets checks or 2 kids. She got busted for drugs with the second dude and now gets her GED paid for and Her college. She was lookin at 18 years in prison, instead they do this drug court crap. Who will also pay for her houseing go figure. While in the program she meets another druggie at a class and got knocked up again. And still gets GOV money. They made her finally get a job Finally, and guess what now she gets more money from the GOV. And qualifies for a bunch of tax write offs now too so she gets back 8k in taxes and she hadnt even made that much let alone pay that much in. Here i sit paying 1k a week and have to do everything i have too to get as much money back as possible!!!!

That's the kind of crap that pisses me off. If you act a fool, you should have to pay the consequences. Not get paid for it.

It makes me even more mad when it's coming out of my pocket.

That right there is the biggest problem I have with people of this kind. Give them an inch and they take a mile. Pisses me off to no end. I understand people fall on hard luck and need a little assistance but abusing the priveledge makes me all kinds of furious...and of course they all have a fresh pack of smokes but cant afford stuff like diapers.... Im outta here before I continue to further piss myself off thinkin about it.
