i'm not saying we should give everyone who is a citizen of this country everything they want, but this is something that's been getting to me lately. the first thing we need, the first reform we need is foreign aid. how many billions go into foreign aid a year? just look at it. why do we need to give relief to japan? japan has more money than we do now! they're doing a lot better than we are! why do we give money to pakistan? we could use that money for all the natural disasters we have in this country! i think the next president or a republican candidate should address this above all. before we have welfare reform, social security/medicare/medicaid reform we need this. this should be a no brainer. cut this, and then we can worry about reforms to social security, and welfare, and medicaid. we need to take care of our own first. this needs to stop, and can be stopped right away. the next thing we need to do is cut off every illegal alien in this country from those services, and entitlements. no one really wants to address that issue either. they're afraid of losing the hispanic vote.


we need to do this with all illegals whether they are from mexico, canada, ireland, italy, israel, middle east, anywhere. they shouldn't be collecting those services. i have more sympathy for american citizens collecting this. i mean it's not that i don't feel bad for the illegals, but we need to take care of our own first. am i the only one that thinks this needs to be addressed? foreign aid.

i agree with you, how can we be in an economic crisis and still have the money to send over seas, to try and buy off people that hate us. we can see how well that worked in pakistan. i kinda disagree with you on the aid to japan. they are in an extreme situation and need some help. but we do need to take care of americans first! and i dont know why the illegal vote is even an argument. there should be an id required to vote. end of story. the rest of the stuff will be argued till the end of time.

you got a point there about japan. i'm not as against it when a natural disaster is happening. i wasn't dead against it after haiti's earthquake either, because it was a bad situation. i'm all for donating too. it's a good thing to donate, but i don't think we should have to support every country financially. i know what you mean about japan though. not saying i think we should try to get more people on welfare, food stamps, and medicaid, and i think it would benefit everyone in the long run if we phased out social security in favor of private accounts, and 401ks. this is what i'm saying about the illegals. the illegals being here doesn't bother me as much as the fact that some of them, but not all of them. some of them can receive medicaid, food stamps, and vote. i just think before we reform any programs we need to reform these other things like immigration, and this foreign aid. then we can go, and do what needs to be done with those other programs.

i'm almost a hippie in the way i like everyone regardless of where they come from, and immigration was great this country became successful with immigration, and a lot of us are only 3rd or 2nd generation americans ourselves. maybe even some of us were not born here. this country is not in a position right now to let everyone in, and on top of that give people who come here everything for nothing. it's just been going on for too long now. if you come here legally i'm all for you no matter what nation you come from.

I believe it should be the choice of American People (individually) to donate funds, time, etc not the government giving away tax dollars without oversight!

And I become more and more enraged every time I hear that millions/billions of aid/funding/assistance was sent to another country! It's about time we quit trying to save the world (that obviously doesn't want to be saved) and worry about the USA!

obviously no one will be happy with everything tax dollars go to support. it's kinda like no one is gonna agree with every single issue a particular politician thinks, but they'll still support them anyway kinda like a lesser of two evils.


what i don't get is everyone wastes so much time talking about cuts to medicare, and social security all these politicians, and medicaid, and welfare. do i think these programs need to be reformed? YES! let's reform them tomorrow though. we can reform this whole foreign aid stuff right this moment. take this guy paul ryan for example.


i don't know his views on foreign aid. i bet if he was asked he would say ''well we should do something to reform that system too. we'll work on it''. i don't see him saying anything about the us sending foreign aid to any country it wants to! all they talk about is medicare, social security, and whatever other national entitlement programs. those need to be worked on too, but it's a no brainer on foreign aid. that, and stop giving every single illegal all those entitlements, and then we'll work on what what needs to be done with the citizens!

the biggest entitlement i see a problem with right now is this federal unemployment! it hasn't been a drain on the debt for nearly as long as this other stuff, but people haven't worked in almost two years, and now they're content! they probably can't pay their bills on it to begin with, but i'd bet a lot of them have either moved back home with their family, or their spouse still has a job. i'm sure this is something talked about being cut though.
