So the Republicans in the House ain't backing down here, and listening to the will of the American People for a change. Which is great, and I fully support that. Now we've got Senator Ried, across the way calling this measure extreme. All this is a short-term, one week, extension to keep the government open. No Agreement is implied at all as these two factions continue to debate the budget.

This would be a great thing to get past, first they ain't going to have much else passed before tomorrow night in the way of a budget, and second it funds our military for the remainder of the year. We have three wars being fought at the moment, and those troops need equipment, and the pay for doing the job. A government shutdown, doesn't let the military drop what their doing and go home, the least these fellas in Washington can do is pay them, uninterrupted.

Now I'd like to hear what's on ya'll's minds when it comes to the Budget Negotiations, and the possible Government Shutdown.

Elected Officials should cut there own pay and benefits. They already cut everything else to a point of nothing left to cut.

There's plenty to cut from the budget, entitlement programs, political lobbyists, grants for ya'll these "green jobs" that are driving industry out of this country, etc.

I think its absolutely BS that the military would be a bargaining tool like this. Imagine, you're overseas doing your job on post to defend this country. You've got a wife and a family and is paying the price right along with you, for your service. And these politicians are going to stop the paychecks, and add that stress on the military overseas, its an outrage.

I think its absolutely BS that the military would be a bargaining tool like this. Imagine, you're overseas doing your job on post to defend this country. thats exactly what i think, i cant belive they would even think of using the millitary as a barging tool, i also have a few freinds that graduated last year from the school i go to and went straight into the service and some family in the service

from what i understand the military will still get paid....as they are "essential" services......i thought i read somewhere the white house is using this as a scare tactic.......but things change on an hourly basis

Negative, sir, the military (as I understand how its being put out to us) will still earn our pay. However, no paychecks will be issued (for work after April 8th)to the military or other essential services, until the budget is resolved.

In typical fashion, the Dems are already touting up a blockade instead of doing the right thing here. The Senate could pass the House measure, get it vetoed, and overturn that veto and in-act this short term extension. But instead they've already started the bollocks, and finger-pointing. Next week would give them time to hammer out the rest of the year, (which is already 6 months through) and be done with this issue.

That's correct,the demtards are denying on-time payment rights to the military personnel ,but will get paid when budget is finalized...WTF????

It shows that the Demtards only care about them selves and NOT the soldiers who protect them...including Obama!!

It really pizzes me off to see this happen to our guys and gals who put their lives on the line for us.

I'd like to see dirty Harry Reid put on a plane and dropped over there....his stench of corruption would make every one run for cover
