from what I understand, defense of the DOMA falls under Holders' and the WH's jurisdiction. The way I see it, they are bound by law to defend it until otherwise directed by Congress. This is yet another attempt to sidestep Congress and attempt to legislate "from the bench" or use executive authority (which does not apply in this case) to advance the WH's liberal agenda. Congress needs to address this, and quickly....either force the Justice Department to defend it, or repeal the DOMA (which I certainly do not wish them to do). I think that refusal to defend the DOMA, and the WH defying a direct order from Congress is grounds to begin impeachment proceedings. They may not win, but they should try
