Dept. Homeland security/Another scam?

Is the Department of Homeland Security another boondoggle that the taxpayer is getting screwed on? Watching a show on PBS Frontline last week about the DHS, 1 interesting item was, no one knows what the total cost is each year to the taxpayer. How is this possible?

Over 1 million people are employed in the DHS. 72 major information processing centers scattered around the country are now in place. These centers are supposed to coordinate all of the information from local, state and Federal law enforcement matrix. Maryland State troopers have the latest license plate scanning technology on the front and rear of their patrol cars. These monitors relay all of the gathered information about license plates back to 1 of the processing centers. This information is then coordinated with traffic/building cameras that are being increasing installed around the country. This is supposed to create a path/timeframe on where a person travels in a car if one commits a terrorist act. IMO, this would be easy to defeat this multi billion dollar BS tracking system, just by changing/altering the plates on a truck/car that will be used in a terrorist attack.

An Admiral was interviewed who was in charge of 2 major intelligence networks. He couldn't tell you how many actual agencies there are in the DHS. He said Jesus probably doesn't know either. Glad we know have all of that transparency in the Federal Govt as never before.

With all of the billions of dollars spent of the DHS how come illegal aliens haven't been rounded up by them? Just maybe the DHS might discover some sleeper terrorist cells whose members are now illegal because of expired student/work visas. Wouldn't our National Security be strengthened by removing the 5th column from the USA?

Another scam that the DHS perpetrated on the American taxpayer was the virtual fence project along the US/Mexico boarder. This new state of the art "electronic" fence was suppose to seal America's borders from illegal immigrants and drug dealers. This idea could never work, but what does that matter when the taxpayer is footing the bill for this robbery. I am sure the scum on Capitol Hill got well paid by the defense contractor cons odium that put this BS project together.

The taxpayer has no idea how much this has cost up to this point. The sheeple in this country have their head in the sand 1 more time in this matter. Billions have been spent and yet the Christmas Day bomber and the Times SQ. bomber somehow eluded the DHS and still posed an immanent threat to Americans. The only thing that saved these acts of terrorism from going off was ineptitude of the perpetrator.

IMO, the US would be better off changing it's foreign policy(Israel as per Rand Paul suggestion) and getting weaned off the oil we import from the Middle East. IMO, it would be better to divert the billions of dollars that go the DHS and use those dollars for energy independence for the USA. This would go along way with solving our Home Security problems. Last but not least, how can we have true National Security when we are dependent on imported oil(no energy policy yet, 40+ years and counting) and the US doesn't have a robust manufacturing infrastructure anymore?
