GAs Prices
Is this by design or is it just a coincidence?
Folks this guy has said time and time again he wants to stimulate the economy, he sure has a strange way of doing so. The cost of a gallon of gas has eclipsed the $3 mark in several parts of the country and clocks in nationally at $2.82, according to the Energy Information Administration (EIA). That's up from $2.68 on Sept. 6, and overall about $1 higher than the week of Jan. 26, 2009, when President Obama took office and the per-gallon price was $1.81. Mr. Obama, a vocal advocate for clean-energy technologies, has routinely stressed the need to transition the U.S. to a renewable-energy-use pattern as a means to improve the environment and also seize on new business opportunities in the burgeoning sector. He pushed for home weatherization credits in the stimulus package, and his Environmental Protection Agency has issued tighter fuel-economy standards, for example. I'm getting tired of seeing this rise again.
And the Dems take quite the hefty contribution from companies such as BP that are pushing for more "green" things. The only green things they're pushing for is more green in their pockets. |

I also hate to see fuel prices rising again - although I cannot say I am surprised. With the dollar not being worth squat (on the world market), is it any wonder the OPECkers want more of them in exchange for their oil? P.S. Unleaded gasoline is about $2.69 to $2.89 in our area, with diesel being $2.89 to $3.09.

Yep,oil is bought in U.S. dollars only-when the buck goes down, oil goes up
![]() Diesel is $3.09 to $3.25 around me ![]() I can't remember what it was in '08-I think around $1.99-2.09

i just filled up for $2,93 a gallon for diesel. it hasn't gone up much by me in the past month or two. maybe 15 cents per gallon. seems like it's going up other places though. at times i don't think almost $3 bucks a gallon is a lot for fuel, but i just think it's funny that diesel was $1.60 a gallon in 2003, and then in 2004 it was up to $2.60 a gallon. at one time it increased 120% in not even two years. what a joke. i spend on average about $600 bucks a month combined for gas, and diesel with commuting.

Also, China is using alot of oil pushing the price up through OPEC.....
I've paid anywhere from $2.79 (MS) to $3.05 (TX) and have spent almost $1500 on fuel this week alone........ Last edited by StarDriver; 10-29-2010 at 06:02 PM. |
