Fuel efficiency standards on working vehicles will kill business by driving up transportation costs. The government is also being incredibly unrealistic with the standards they are proposing.

I doubt they even consulted the manufacturers about this.

We should just fire them all and not replace them. Would get about as much accomplished for us. Here is to leaving Washington empty!

I heard on the radio today that these new regs could push up the price of a new truck over $60,000 of the current price today.

I'm getting tired of the mindset in Washington and across the country that "auto makers could give us something that makes x amount of power while using x amount of fuel, but they won't because they just want to screw us and take our money"

These people have no understanding what kind of work is done to prepare an auto for production. When the 6.7 Power Stroke was developed they gave us the perfect balance of power, torque, fuel economy, and emissions. It's a balancing act for manufacturers to achieve the results we see and so many lack the understanding that this balancing act cost millions of dollars and millions of man hours to produce.

Not to mention the cost of the design/manufacturing of the tooling just to produce the product-if even possible in the first place
