But surely you've heard the argument that the 2nd amendment does not
apply to individuals, but rather to State militias (AKA National Guard).
The argument is wrong, but that is the excuse used by gun-grabbers to
erode the Individual's right to gun ownership.

I don't think any of the people that created the Bill of Rights were that selfish.

The second amendment clearly states: "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed"

"The term militia is commonly used today to refer to a military force composed of ordinary citizens"

Not sure what you mean by your first sentence.
As to the second quote, it has been twisted to mean an Organized militia -
and the next leap was to mean only the National Guard or other
organized State militia is entitled to gun ownership by the 2nd Amendment.
