How can she be considered as a serious candidate for national office when she blew off her commitment to the state of Alaska?

Just how are politicians supposed to ascend to higher office? Why does this make her tainted?

Why the smear campaign, even by Conservatives?

It just seems like if you run for office you are making a commitment, I don't see any reason that she couldn't run for a higher office and still finish her term as governor.

Well, I think running for President should require one's full attention. By doing so the Governorship would suffer, so I think she made the right decision.

Its simple. She doesnt want the State of Alaska to pay her to run for higher office. Why should they when she isnt devoting her time to them. Its a principle.

I thought she only had another year as governor, that would leave her plenty of time for running in the next presidential election.

Right now she spends more time in the courtroom from the countless frivolous lawsuits being brought against her by leftists. She has no time to govern anyway. free from this office, she isn't subject to rules of being in office.

And free to make multi-million dollar TV and book deals, looks just like another typical politician from where I stand.

Shannon went to that rag the other day and promptly said what a load of crap.

As far as Palin giving up on Alaska I agree with her decision to step down that way the state doesn't suffer and she can devote all of her energy into the Campaign.
