Hello everyone. I had to go help out one of my guys in the middle of the storm and took my camera with me. These are taken right when the leading edge of the eye was rolling through Virginia Beach. I'm not trying to down play the severity but having been through Rita and Katrina while I was in Lower Alabama, this storm was relatively mild. These were taken about an hour before high tide so things got a little worse.

Marina near Lynhaven Inlet.

Marina Shores Marina. The docks are about 8 feet higher than normal.

Crossing bridge near Lynhaven Inlet. Don't worry, camera is an SLR and I was just holding it up and snapping pics as I paid attention to road.

Here's a pic of Bubbas restaurant on Lynhaven Inlet. This is their ramp that doesn't get used because it's VERY steep and short.

This is the dock next to Chicks Oyster Bar. I know a few yamaha jet boaters that frequent this place :-).

This is behind my house along Great Neck Road.

This is a before and after shot of Chicks Beach. We were there 2 weeks ago with the boat. Notice how far back the houses are in the before pic. The red X in the during pic is the same location as the before pic.

Oh yeah. People are already out raking up all the leaves and what not. We had a few downed trees, but nothing too crazy. I had my chains and straps ready to go and drag trees off of the streets if need be but it never came to that... at least not in my neighborhood. There was a fire in the Dismal Swamp State park that's been burning for a couple weeks and hopefully this has finally put it out.
