Hey ive been noticing lately that my rig sounds like its being choked out after i start it after not running for a few hours almost. It sounds like a constant loud hiss and no whistle like my turbo is temporarily seized up or something. What is this

That is perfectly normal and really annoying at the same time!

Our trucks has a valve that closes in order to keep the truck warm, usually only happens when the truck is idling cold. but in VERY cold conditions it will kick in while driving as well. The valve is called the EBPV (exhaust back pressure valve)

if yours kicks in enough to make it annoying you can un plug it with no bad side effects!
