Former Okie

How's everything in Oklahoma? I miss the Lawton weather this time of year ----- I am freezing my arse off. Gonna be -10 F again tonight. Haven't seen above freezing in quite some time here in South Dakota.

Rich

Hey Rich, hows it going man?
Man i admire a man who would volunterily move to SD given the harsh winters.
I couldn't do it. Its cold enough here and its 40 degrees warmer than there! LOL
I see you have plenty of beer to help occupy time while hibernating...

I hear ya, that -27 day was wicked..... We filled a windex bottle with water, when we sprayed it, it turned to snow/ice......

Come by for a beer anytime.

Definitely have to dress for the conditions. But after the Gortex boots, flanel lined jeans and the North Face Jacket all is cozy. Just needed to alot more time to dress up in the morning.

Even with the record cold & snowy winter - we love it up here. Sioux Falls is a great place. Plus the fuel additive sales are much better up here! All kinds of gelling................

Hey Russ,

Man, this move hurt bad. 3 trips back and forth (1500 miles round trip) to haul the camper and trailer. Took forever to unpack, get started with work and before we knew it - it was time to get the kids started in school. The all of a sudden it was Christmas............... I'm finally getting some time to get online again. One of the good points about getting snowed in!

We enjoyed living in Oklahoma and working at Fort Sill. But I sure didn't like May & June when those supercell T-Storms would bust throught. Especially getting hit by lightning - not the most fun experience I've had! I sure didn't miss the 110 degree temps in July last summer.....

Lake Latonka is a nice area - good pick! We went camping quite alot at Camp Doris in the Wildlife Refuge and had fun hanging out in Medicine Park.

How did it go with that nasty Ice/Snow storm last month?

It was wild. Town still looks like a disaster area.
