ok i now have a question. do i have to get a e check for my diesel? from what i have read on the e check site that they hook up a scanner to the obo2 port. the exhaust i have is from the turbo back no mufflers or cats(if diesel come with cats from the factory). would the exhaust system i have cause me to fail the test? i also read that people change the gvw to 10,001 pounds how would i "hypothetically" go about doing that?

Welcome to the Forum. E-check in Ohio is left upto the county that you reside in. I think there is only a couple out there that require it. Even if you don't need an e-check, odot still sets up inspection points. If they find you without the cat there is a fine for altering the factory emissions. Mufflers are not needed unless you are producing more decibles than aloud. Not sure on the exact number. But you should be fine as long as play time is away from any police.

If it came with one it has to be on ther.

My 2000 did not come with one from the factory so i dont need one. My truck Echecks just fine. They hook up the obd2 and check for codes no codes i pass.
