I'm not a biologist, but hasn't that horse already left the barn? If the virus is a mutated strain with DNA from swine, fowl, and humans, then
aren't pigs unneeded now for it's continued spread? It's moving from human to human. It doesn't need swine.

Or maybe it is "multi-vectored", moving among humans AND swine.
And contagious in both directions.

Anyone have real info?

I don't think there is a lot pigs in Egypt. Being they are mostly non pork eating religions over there.

Now if there was a Feline Flu, well then they would be doing some slaughtering. Because in Egypt they hold Cats at a higher level then Humans.

I've been wondering if our swine industry is being threatened by disease right now. I like my chops on the barbie almost as much as steak. Pork is an inexpensive alternative to beef, and beats the hell outta chicken.
