Posting this for Shan tonight. "This past Friday, actor, director, producer, philanthropist and salad dressing maker Paul Newman (“Hello, Newman…”) died after a battle with cancer. On the other hand, being that he died at the age of 83, a full 10 years over the average male life expectancy, it could be argued that he died after a rather successful battle with life. However you choose to look at it, Paul Newman is no longer with us. The thing about Paul is, he will truly be missed… if not by the general public, then by every actor, director, key grip and best boy in Hollywood who’s spent the last 3 days showering him with posthumous accolades. To be fair, Newman has always been considered a “class act”. On the other end of the spectrum we have John McCain and Barrack Obama. Not to say that they are sleazy or untrustworthy, but let’s face it, when it comes to Presidential elections, you only get two legitimate options, and more often than not, people say they’ll pick the “lesser of two evils”, or the person who we believe is LESS likely to be completely full of sh*t. Politicians, it seems, don’t ignite our confidence. Well, from Paul Newman to presidential hopefuls and everyone in between, we wanna know: WHO, IN YOUR OPINION, EXEMPLIFIES ‘CLASS’ AND WHO DO YOU THINK IS THE FARTHEST FROM IT?" I think my Dad totally exemplifies class and the azzhats that slammed into our trash cans last trash day are the farthest from it. |

Did I mention that it was recycle week also so all of those were down there also. So we call the Sheriffs Department and they say they will send out a Deputy. After about 20 minutes of waiting I tell Shan to go back to bed and I will clean it up. Well right after I finish cleaning it up at about 5:30 the Deputy finally shows up and tells me (no surprise) there is nothing that they can do. DUHH!!! Well a week later as the neighbors are taking the trash down tonight and I am getting ready for the trip they are asking WTH happened to my can so I got to tell the story a half dozen times today. I should have woke them all up and had them helped me clean up after the azzhat that did it.BTW: The trash cans saved them from driving into the ditch and removing themselves from the planet as the slammed into the culvert that runs under our entrance road. I saw where the tracks were headed and it wouldn't have been pretty. |

Miami Dolphins running back Ricky Williams recently gave an interview where he was very forthcoming about his urge to smoke weed again. If you don’t know, Ricky made headlines a few years ago when he quit football so that he could smoke ganja full time. Then he came back to football and came up dirty on 4 different occasions. Now he’s randomly tested NINE TIMES A MONTH! If he comes up dirty again he’s out of the sport forever. That being said, the Dolphins are enjoying a week off, so Ricky was asked if he wanted to smoke weed during the down time and Ricky responded with a resounding ‘yes’… but he fights the urge. On that note, Heather Locklear was recently arrested for driving under the influence. She wasn’t drunk, but she was pretty hopped up on pills. Her mug shot makes that very apparent. According to Hollywood ‘insiders’, Heather has been abusing pills for the last 20 years… and now that everybody knows, she’ll probably try to kick the habit. Talk to anyone in AA or NA and they’ll tell you that they’re addicts but they have to resist the urge. You get the occasional klepto who has to convince himself not to steal, the ex con who has to resist the urge to get back into the ‘game’, and on and on it goes. We’ve all got something we have to convince ourselves NOT to do for one reason or another, and today we wanted to know what eats at you: WHAT TEMPTATION IS HARDEST FOR YOU TO RESIST ON A DAY TO DAY BASIS? I just quit drinking coffee so that first cup in the morning or the lack there of in my case about kills me. |
