Belkin is a good company, I just havent used their networking equipment. I do have a UPS battery backup for my computers and when it needed replaced, they did it and have good tech support.

The one i have

Or they are called Wireless Bridges
those are still like $80, so may as well spend the $99 for the XBOX adapter which is more our of the way, as it attaches to the xbox, not another box sitting around

Belkin is good. They make a lot of computer items as well, so I generally try to select companies who specialize in the market they are serving.

Oh and I'm not sure this wasn't a Vista problem and not a problem with your adapter. It sucks that Linksys had such poor customer support. I have never had a problem with them, although I have never had to call.

I do not like Linksys
I have had two router from them and where I had issues was periodically the router would just no longer allow traffic of any kind thru it. Would have to reset the router and reconfig, then all would be fine, for probably 2-3 months. Several coworkers all had the same problems as I did.
Belkin seemed to behave much better when I went to it, only issue I had with it was my son's 360 would have issues on XBOX Live, and the Belkin I had would not allow you to adjust the MTU throughput on my cable connection. I think the DSL setup allows it to be adjusted if necessary. Went to the Apple and all works great. I used the belkin for a year though.

never had any problems with Belkin adapters though
