You would need to use the wired modem still. Connect the dsl modem to the phone jack, connect the lan cable from the wireless router wan port to the lan port on the back of the dsl modem. xbox has a wired port on the back or go buy a xbox wan card from walmart and the same brand wan card as your router for your computer.

Linksys or D-link can provide all the items above

Phone cord to Modem
Ethernet Cable from modem to wireless router

Now you are wireless you just need receivers or adapters

If you are worried about the bandwidth, go with N.
Im with Bockhold....
If your handy. and want the most speed and "reliability"
then hands down go WIRED!
otherwise buy a decent router and go wireless.
For example (Netgear , Wireless "N" )
If you decide to do any internal file sharing or gaming
then wireless just wont cut it imho.
Best of luck.

Yes wireless would be good for Live. My router is 3 floors below my xbox seems to work fine.

Do you have live yet?

seen any gigabit wireless multi switch routers yet?
anyone who thinks wireless can compete with wired.
has either never felt the speed and reliability of a wired network
or does not need the bandwidth.
If you need the speed go with wired
If its just the Inet. and perhaps some single connection gaming wireless will be just fine.

Ever checked your ping times?
Ill bet the cost of the equipment that the wireless network has lag over the wired stuff.
