Gun control doesn't work - go after knives?

Well, despite England's severe restrictions on gun ownership by private
citizens, violent crime is up (duh). What's their solution? Allow citizens
to carry weapons for self-defense? (Get real).
How about this?

It's the world. Everything is turning to crap. In England, it's also "in fashion" to have a baby..

When you are 13.

If more people were able to carry concealed we wouldn't have this b/s goin' on.

Until people actually start getting punished for crimes, they are going to continue commiting them. You say our prisons are overcrowded now as it is? Then let's put the death penalty in the express lane!

I never quite understood the concept of "life-in-prison".... Some douche kills an innocent, law-abiding citizen and we've gotta pay taxes to feed him and pay for babysitters (prison guards) for the rest of his life?

F that.

I suggest murderers and anyone eligible for the death penalty and/or "life in prison" be hanged in the town squares again. It lets potential criminals see what'll happen to them if they're bad.

There is a very simple phrase that explains a lot of this.

"If you outlaw guns, only outlaws will have guns"

Individual gun ownership is the great equalizer. When it is prevelant, it makes criminals think twice.

Your right gun control does not work, I like this option much better, take the courts and prisons out of the equation.

that is crazy, the knife thing... its fashion to kill someone with a knife, and they look down on us? weird. I carry a knife in my pocket, but it has nothing to do with me not feeling safe. its a usefull tool. as for the oldman who shot those robbers, nice job. it was him or them, and im glad he is alright, and they got the best of our justice system.
