should i look into oil field jobs

anyone have any tips for someone starting to look into it. is their still plenty good paying jobs out their for no experience?

im 23 now and im currently employed with a ok job but if half the stuff i read is true about the pay i really think i need to give it a shot. from what i understand look like a good bit of it you work 2 week straight then off for a week or two this would be great to try out since i would be able to keep current job if its not for me or even keep two jobs one for long term and the oil field for a few years to save and buy a house .

how hard is it to get a job that pays at least 25 or so an hour for no oil related experience . i have my B cdl now but getting my A very soon can run equipment right now we use loaders and gradall alot.. clean driving record and no criminal history . do most of the big company include housing ?

what the best areas to look into? texas , north dakota , any others? is it a long process to get into the canada fields or do they fast track that for works?

thanks any info you leave in a thread reply or private message would be great. need something new have nothing holding me down right not, morgage , wife , kids , etc ...

i work in the oil field(been in it for 1.5years now), i recommend upgrading to a class A with hazmat and tanker it will open a ton of doors.

last i heard canada isn't accepting Work Visa's(one of the company i applied for a few months ago told me that has a branch in canada

not all to a 2 on and 2 off work scedule, i just started at a company that the frac crew did 4weeks straight and is maybe getting 3-4 days off with 1 in the yard for maintence on equipment,

don"t expect $25 an hour starting its not going to happen, you are going to start around 16-$20 and hour and make your money in overtime.

best area right know, North dakota(bakken oil field)(best to drive to ND to get job), Greeley,Co(DJ basin), and Texas.

expect to work 100+ hours a week, minimum 84 hours

if you have any question let me know
