Another interesting fact, it take an average of 4.6 seconds to read a text, at 65 mph, that's the length of a football field. How many of you will drive with you eyes closed for 4.6 seconds while driving?

I text and drive all the time, although it's hard cause I have to take my hands off the handlebars

4.6 on average.

I talked with a deputy the other night and he told me he responded to a single car accident, a lady was texting, lost control, rolled her car and was ejected, when he arrived, she was lying on the shoulder, injured, still texting....

In case some of you don't know, I am an instructor at Doug Herbert's B.R.A.K.E.S Teen driving school. B.R.A.K.E.S. I also take my semi, park cars around it in the blind spots and let the teens sit in my driver's seat and see what I see.

Here's a teen driver, at 10 mph, texting and TRYING to drive. Note what the sign says that she hits.

We'd love to have Discount Tire get involved with B.R.A.K.E.S.
