Casualty of high oil prices?
I went to the barber at lunch today. On the way back to work,
there was a guy in the right lane on a teeny little motor scooter. I felt embarassed for him. But I also felt scared for him. I was in the next lane (4 lane road), but I moved as far to my left as I could. He wouldn't even make a decent speed bump for my truck. Those things scare me. I'm seeing a lot more motorcycles on the road. Granted, warm weather is here, but I think oil prices have a lot to do with it, too. We're going to see casualties. |

Well all I can say is "Be careful". If you haven't had it before,
get some safety training. I lost my leg on a motorcycle, after riding for over 17 years. Head-on at night with a drunk driver with no headlights (on a 50 MPH road). Sometimes it's your fault, oftentimes, it's the other guy.

I know I've been riding my bike more because of the hi prices, and I see more and more of them in the parking lot here at work.
I was just lementing this weekend, when I bought my bike I could pull into a gas station on my bike, fill it up get a coke and a candy bar and still have change left out of a $10. Now I don't have enough for a coke with a $20. |

Bike sales are just going to go up. Just like when diesel was cheaper than gas everyone started buying diesels. Now people will start buying bikes.

Dang your lucky as hell I had a dream as a young man to ride a motorcycle from here to canada through the mountains. When i was 25 i bought me a susuki intruder 800 and me and my boss took off headed north with only a sleeping bad, tent and two changes of cloths. 10 days and 4400 miles later i returned home safely. The best time of my life! Did it again the next year and sold my bike. Dream lived, lost no hide, quit while i was ahead. |
