PICS ;)...miss-use of Gov. funds!
I don't even know where to start.........
For those that don't know,..I am a Damage Controlman in the US Coast Guard, I have many different jobs,...Firefighting, Welding, Fabrication, etc, etc...and ever since I reported to my new unit here in Louisiana(6 months ago),...I've asked for a small "welding trailer"....something like a white 6 x 12 enclosed...something that would cost around $4,000.....that's all I wanted.... Well....I got a trailer....not what I wanted though.... ![]() Someone ...higher than me,...got me this. A 30' toyhauler....$26,000+.....It has an 8 speaker/CD stereo system, Air conditioning, Heat, stove, fridge, freeze, 66 gallons of on-board water, water heater, micro-wave, Satellite TV, double sinks, full bathroom w/ large shower, breakfast nook, it slept 6 until I ripped out a few beds..... All I wanted was a fuggin weld trailer!!!!,...and I get this MONSTER......I even have mini-blinds ..WITH RUFFLED CURTAINS!.... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() That's not all folks,....this is my POS that I have to pull it with...can you say "OVER-LOADED!!!"....I hope to all things holy,...that it blows up soon,...because this GASSER can't get out of it's own way now,...and not only is it WAYYYYYYYYY under powered...but I also don't have a trailer brake controler....so the term..."stopping power" ...is more of a joke than a reality. ![]() Today I took the rig for a "test drive".....because of the weight,..The front tires were a little "light"....and the torque converter will probably go out tomorrow on my 2 hour drive....because it smelled like hell, in the 10 mile test drive I took it on today... ![]() When this POS blows up,..they'll probably get me the new truck I asked for....but instead of getting a 08 F-450 Dually...they will probably get me a F-650...or something retarded.. So...they could have spent $4,000 for the trailer I asked for,...but when it's all said and done,...new trailer, and a truck to pull it,..will end up costing around 100k..... I work for a bunch of . |

Should have asked for this type of trailer from the get go. Then you would have gotten a big ol bus style RV outfitted for your job.
That trailer is a nice looking setup. Looks kinda over full though. |

If they give you an International CXT or something will you complain? lol
Maybe they got a smokin' deal on the trailer or something....That's funny though, you'd think they'd have been stingy and given you one of those tiny little u-haul trailers you see attached to honda civics....... |

I would mount the air compressor on the tongue. Then plumb in air compressor connections for the air hose on the back and inside the work area. That will give you more room. You could build a diamond plate aluminum box over the air compressor so it is not getting wet or damaged from weather.
