Absolutely not, my dog is awesome around other dogs as well as the pit I lived with for 3 years prior to buying my condo. The males are a tad dominant but my brothers chocolate lab laid rocky, 100% pit, down and showed him who was boss. Tasha is just a little crazy so she has no idea what dominance is, I havent seen her exhibit any yet... I gotta tell ya tiny little dogs tend to be more of a problem from what I can see all around me, they bark, bite and act obnoxious. My mom has one and just got through some rough training to stop her from being such a horrible dog. I have friends parents that have little white dogs and things of the like that are so bad around kids when my big footed half pit breed just knocks my nephew over because she doesnt realize hes not big enough to play lol |

well im a veterinary technician and in med school to be a veterinarian so ive seen it all. pitbulls are usually the sweetest dogs that come in the clinic. the only ones i typically have problems with are your chinese breeds (akitas and shar-pei's) and your german breeds (shepherds mostly). pitbulls arent usually agressive or "mean" but very dominant. which becomes a problem around other dominant dogs. i have a pitbull as well as 2 beagles and they are all best friends. dominance is mistaken for agression alot of times and thats where pitbulls get there poor reputation. i will likely always own pitbulls, kill shelters and spca's are over flowing with them because all of theses punk kids and homies think theyre going to make money being a "breeder" and now you have a innocent life at stake and for what? sorry for the rant but in my line of work you see alot of $h!t that just blows your mind.

Yep it is all in how you raise them. Mine was a rescue, she is so young I dont think she remembered anything. She had full blown mange, no hair and was all bones. Someone had cropped her ears and treated her like garbage. All she ever wants to do is make me happy, she was so bad when I got her and I didnt think it was going to get any better... There were days when I was just going to go nuts because I couldnt control her while walking, to the extent that people wanted to stop their cars and help me. Within 2 months if she is going crazy I stand and look at the ceiling and she drops to the floor and she knows I will only pay attention to her if she lays down and puts her head on the floor. I dont know how she taught herself that but I really didnt try that hard to make it happen. She has taught herself to sit at the front door and not to move if she wants the collar put on to go out and just various other things I dont recall trying that hard to teach her. She is just a very smart dog and I am glad I was able to give her the life she deserved. |

I totally agree with you with the shelters being overflowed and the people that pretend to breed them. I will always and forever own pits, they are just the sweetest dogs and they are so smart... My dog might be somewhat unsightly looking because of some spots of mange that wont ever heal but she is my baby and she is the sweetest dog. If I could get my hands on the people that did this stuff to her I dont know what I would do...

That's what I thought, but its always better to get info from people you trust The media and most other info sources will deem them 'dangerous' animals. My Wife and I both love the way they look, but have never owned one, but may get one when my pups are gone (I hate thinking about replacing my dogs )

Yeah, I have heard that a pits main objective to to 'please their owner'. That's one of the reasons they are good fighting dogs, among other things, they hear their owner saying "good dog, tear that dog up" and they think "oh, I'm doing good, my owner says so" .If I ever saw a dog fight in progress, I think I woud have a hard time NOT showing those useless pukes what an AK-47 will do to human flesh ![]() Eye for an Eye, ESPECIALLY when its an innocent life that is being taken or injured for fun, or entertainment, such as dog fights and ANYBODY that hurts children and the like
