Why did it stop? You can get parts for them and it's much cheaper to repair than replace. My last one stopped because the control board went bad. $58 back in business.

We have Genie in our rental and Wayne Dalton in our current house but I believe they are made by the same people. Niether is a favorite, just depends on purchase price I guess.

I have heard that the Liftmaster 3280 belt drive is a nice opener, however, make sure whichever model you pick syncs up with your Homelink in your cars or you may need to buy a repeater to make everything work.

Earlier this year, I replaced mine with a Genie belt drive. Geez Louise that thing is quiet. I had a worm-drive before. There are times when I've pushed the button, gone in the house, closed the door. I've re-opened the door to make sure the door is down. It's that quiet.
