winch trouble need help

My winch quit working!!!!!! Was spoolin up some new line and she died on me. I have it down to the bare winch with all of the solenoids off and no wires and seen on the internet somewhere that if you hook er up to the battery via cables see will spin according to what posts it is on.... No spin at all. It was workin fine this morning too. So I think that a contact is out???? In the motor. Anyways I really suck with electrical stuff so hope someone can give me a pointer. It is a warn winch with three posts. 8000lb cant remember exact model number

If you got a test light, check for power at the solenoid when you power up the winch.
If you dont have power it may be the remote. If you do, see if the solenoid is switching.
If not bad solenoid.
