riffle barrel

im in the market for a new barrel for a remington 300 ultra mag and would like to beable to take it to the gunsmith not send it but willing to drive a few hours to do so any suggestions would be great my barrel is shot out

every now and then I see different custom barrels on gunbroker for the rem 300. Shipping it someone may be your only option. I don't really pay attention to that rifle. I shoot weatherby rifles and lc smith shotguns.

I'll ask a guy at work, he may know.

What loads have you found to be accurate out of that gun? And with what bullets? What in all heck do you need a rifle like that for back east?

im just starting to reload my own but i shot about 400 factorys through it and the throat is way worn the one i just reloaded are 3.8 inches long to should be no more than 3.6 inches i love the gun for long range and plan on somday going elk hunting

400???? Somethin' aint right there. The RUM is a hot round, but you should be well into the thousands, mabye tens of thousands, before a barrel craps out on you. I'd look into that if I were you, before you buy a new barrel.
