A room has 3 wall mounted spot lights, one in the middle and one on each side of the podium. The switches are located in another room labeled switch #1,#2,#3. and are completely out of sight with no mirrors or shadows. How can you tell which switch operates which light?

You are alone, and can only make one trip to the other room to verify.

Turn the switches on one at a time. Then look and see which light is on with which switch.

Man, this is a good one..I would have to think about it for awhile..

I got another teaser here somebody told me once..

You stand before 2 doors that are guarded by one man each. One door leads to the fiery depths of hell, the other leads to ever lasting heaven. You are only allowed to choose one door and are only allowed to ask one of the 2 guards one question regarding what lies behind their door. Problem is one guard always lies and the other one will only tell the truth. The teaser is: what one question can you ask that WILL guarantee that you choose the right door that leads to ever lasting eternity?

"If I asked the other guard, which door would he indicate
leads to Heaven?" Take the door opposite to what's indicated
Regardless of whom you ask, they'll point to the wrong door.

The liar will tell you that the other will lead to you hell, and if you ask the truth teller he'll indicate that the other will lead you to hell.
