This morning on the radio, the DJs played an interview of a guy (from several years ago) who was on a Hospital ship in Pearl that morning. He was 18 at the time. Shortly after the attack, some crewmen launched a 40' motor launch and started going out to collect the wounded and the dead while Japanese Zeros were still flying overhead and strafing and bombing. He recounted how he had been at the "Battle of the Bands" competition the night before. This "battle" was between the bands from the Battleships tied up in the harbor. The band from the Arizona had won the competition, but he choked up when he told that everyone of the band members had been killed during the attack on the USS Arizona Sunday morning. You could feel the emotion in his voice. He had never forgotten what he experienced that day. I don't know if the gentleman is still alive or not, the DJs didn't say.
