$339.99 Holy Cow

Ok it is plastic, it has a float on it, it tells you how much fuel you have. The only place to get it is at the dealer and the price from ford is 339.99 that is not a typo. I am now checking junk yards. I am not going to pay 339.99 for a fuel tank sending unit. The dang thing probablly only costs 20 bucks to make if that. What is Ford smoking.

Zip Ties is what I am going to try. I would try something like JB weld but I am afraid that the diesel fuel will eat it up and it will not work. JB weld may work for a while which I may do if I can not find one at a local parts yard.

Contact a local 3M rep and see if they recommend anything.. Worth a shot at least.

If I knew a 3m rep I would. The thing is I think almost anything but a fuel tank repair putty would be eaten up eventually by the diesel fuel. I know it is not gas, but it still has the ability to eat things just takes longer.

I take it from what was said on this thread that your float is damaged? If thats the case and it is plastic take it to a store that specializes in plastics and they will have the proper glue to repair it with. Each type of plastic must be repaired with the proper cement or it won't work.

Good news my wife got me the whole dang tank from the local junk yard. Now all I am using is the fuel level sending unit. So if any one needs a tank but has the fuel level sending unit I will hook you up for half of what I paid for the tank. Local pick up or I can drop off locally being I have no clue how to ship a fuel tank. Oh I got the whole tank for half the cost of the part new.
