Ill fly a flag where i want to fly it...
I just got into the most heated debate with my "girlfriend" about where a flag will be flown at our house. I am a die hard american, i have a half sleeve tattoo of the national ensign on my arm. I told her we are mounting a flag pole with lights in our front lawn. She goes on to say no it will go where it looks the best, probably on the side of the house. BI*** I will put the flag where i want to put it! Is anyone else with me on this right now? Im sorry im just have noone else to vent to right now and im pretty heated. That flag represents not only what i do, but what my fore fathers, and all those currently standing for our country do and die for every day.

I remember when I was younger and we moved to a new house one of the first things my dad did was buy a flag pole and flag and put it right in front of our house and it is still flying high to this day. You can be dam sure that when I buy my first home that will be one of the first things I do. Its actually pretty easy to design a nice flowerbed around a flagpole. Tell your "girlfriend" that she can pick out a bunch of flowers and stones and stuff to make it look really nice. Maybe even a fountain, that what my house has and it looks really nice. Wish I could post up a picture but I'm 300 miles away in college.
Good luck |

Thats music to my ears man, yes of course it will be done properly and with respect. Not just a pole rammed into the ground. I think more Americans need to become aware of how to properly display patriotism.

Its just her argument is "we need to make decisions together" thats not even what this is about. This is about you preventing me from representing what i stand for, what i risk my life for every day.

But seriously, thank you for your service, it really is appreciated, unfortunately some people just don't understand and it will always be that way. Sent from my iPhone using Autoguide |

I have a place to fly my flag. It's a wall-mount deal that holds a short pole at an angle.
I, and I think you do, understand the 'we need to make decisions together' thing. It is the basis of a good relationship. So....What I'm thinking is, you need to do is explain your sense of patriotism, how deeply you feel it and why you want to prominently display the country's colors. Perhaps if she understands more about how you feel, she'll be more inclined to be flexible in the poles placement. I've been married to my wife 36 years. Both of us have explained our side at different times and we've figured stuff out. |
