I have bragging rights at work now!!

Today the powers that be (administration in our central office) decided to have a Maintenance Fun Field Day.

It was basicly a day with pay to go to one central park and have a cookout and hang out in appreciation of our usually undernoticed job. As maintenance, we usually go about our day unrecognized by the public. Simply put, if we do our job right, the parks look good, but you don't really see us doing it. It just gets done.

Anyways, this field day was planned and all the crews were invited together.
The management had a cookout, door prizes and set up a couple of competitions based on some skills that we use at work, and some based on fun things.

They had a zero-turn mower course, horseshoe toss, archery, etc. They also set up a truck and trailer course that you had to manuver and back up the trailer in the best time w/o hitting the cones.

Well, I brag at work about my trailer skills, so I had to put my money where my mouth is!!

I tried the course first, got a good time, never hit a cone....and nobody beat my time all day!!

I won bragging rights till next year and a $50 gift card to Eastern Mountain Sports, an outdoor recreation equipment store here.

Yeah, forgot to mention...the truck was a F250 SuperCab Long bed gasser with a 14' trailer..as soon as I saw that, I was like "Oh Yeah!!"

I'll admit...I have towed up to a 24' enclosed...but have never towed a gooseneck

The gooseneck and fifthwheel pull a lot nicer and easier with a heavy load, but they do turn a little different than a bumper pull. With the 3 mile turning radius of the 172" wheelbase, no trailer is really a dream to back in tight places!
