Whatca think?

Well as some of yall know i have been attending class to get my ASE as a master tech. alot more to go but im well on my way. Well i have a great friend thats a gamewarden, and i kinda feel it would be a good change. This way A, i never have a boss breating down my back. B, I get to be in the outdoors, and C the pay is good. but on the down side i would be in danger all the time, much like a cop or law enforsment. I really dont know. just a thought for now. i do know i would need a green psd to drive LOL. Its less stress, easer, and the pay is good. so who knows i might give it a shot.

You might want to check the qualifications for the position first to see if you would even qualify!

Aaaaaand, you might want to get a mental evaluation too to make sure that you could handle a position with that type of authority too! We don't need another Wisconsin.

Just being honest.... they don't let just anybody carry a weapon and be in a position with that much authority and power. At least not in Oregon.

I mean to change what i wanted to do for a living for the rest of my life. I know there is some schooling involved to it. Less then a master tech would have to have. I dont really know for sure. I know that when your done with the schooling they send you "away" persay. they wont let you work in the county you live in. Not to sure why. i guess i need to look into it some more. like i said its just an idea for now.

Well, I'm sure the gamewarden wouldn't have extended the opportunity if he thought he was offering "just anybody" the job.

I know in Washington it requires a Bachelor's in Law Enforcement or equivalent. It was something that I was looking into doing when I retired but the Law enforcement degree doesn't interest me.

Why would a college education be required to be a cop? Its not like they are actualy making the dounuts. KIDDING!!!! I wanted to be a gamewarden for a longtime, but here in GA so does everyone else. It has a 2 year waiting list or atleast it did 8 years ago when I graduated. Best of luck to ya.

Yeah a Game Warden would be a great job, to me anyway. And yes there are a lot of test and stuff to do just like a cop. I work for the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office at the County Jail as a Detention Officer and I had to go through a good bit of stuff for this job.
