RC Cars/trucks
Anyone into RC cars/ trucks? i have been debating on getting one so that not only i can play with it but so that my son that is 6yrs old can start playing with one....
i went to a hobby shop today and saw this one: Traxxas - Ford F-150 SVT Raptor (#5806) - Overview | traxxas.com it looks like a good semi entry level unit that i would be able to set the control to 50% so that my son can learn on it.. but when i want to use it set it to 100% and give her hell.... -Raul |

That's pretty slick. I was thinking about getting back into RC a while back, but I started thinking about having to mod 2 trucks

I've been debating getting back into it. I was really into it many years ago with a couple of really good off road cars. I then went the other way and throned my RC10 into a street race car and ran it at a local circle track. It was really fun and really expensive, at least it was for a 1-14 year old kid. They were all electric....I think if i got back into it, I'd get a nitro 4WD. I was in FL a couple years ago and this guy had one on the beach. Looked fun!
That Raptor looks pretty good. Are all of the new cars already assembled? That was the best part back in the day....building the thing from the ground up. |

yah most of them are all ready to go out of the box......
i had a nitro tmaxx and as fun as it was it was a PITA to keep tuned correctly... i spent most of the time tuning it and adjusting it to run right then actually playing with it... i then went to a E maxx and that was a lot more fun but batteries are expensive.... according to the hobby shop people if i get a lithium battery and upgrade to the brush less motor i can get 1 hour of play time with each battery.... |

The brushless electric are the fastest ones out there now. There is a electric car that will do a 100mph. It's nuts. I still have a couple of my older rc trucks. My kids love em as well. Between the RC stuff and all the pocket bikes I have been dealing with for the kids its hard finding free money to spend on the truck anymore.

I have a t maxx 3.3 and it's been in the closet for about a year got tired of tuning it and replacing spur gears, electric is definitely the way to go. Thought about getting an axial wraith they are an all purpose rock crawler/racer looks like fun.

Yeah, no kidding....15 minutes was all I had. Races took about 8-10 minutes at WOT most of the time. I had a few DNF's because of battery drain....
