Countless tomorrows were sacrificed for this day. Honor those who have fallen, those who have paid the ultimate price for the freedoms we take for granted. Close your eyes and imagine the hell of war, the blood tinged waters of Utah beach, or the sandy hades of Afghanistan, or the blood and body filled trenches of WWI. Imagine a soldier scrambling up the hill at Iwo Jima, or a sailor fighting for his life in the great sea battle at Midway. Look at the world through their eyes, their hopes and dreams gone, their sacrifice, the sacrifice their families have made, all upon the altar of freedom. The soldier is beyond politics, beyond rhetoric, their sacrifice should never be lessened, and should always be remembered. Always honored. They were ever vigilant in their defense of the freedoms we hold so dear, and we should be ever vigilant in the remembrance of their sacrifice. So to you my fallen American soldier, sailor, airmen......your job is done, the battle is fought, and you can rest now. I will honor you, in my heart and prayers, and will never forget you. Thank you.
