Politicians at it again
Howdy all,
Just an FYI politicians are tucking the Dream Act (No link you'll have to look it up on your own) in with a Defense Spending Bill to be voted on later this week. If you are against it you better notify your Senators. None of them have the guts for an up or down vote in daylight. ![]() I will now step down. Craig |

So If I came to the US Illegally and i have been here a while. I fit the below requirements for citizenship. Lets not make it to hard to become a citizen!!
DREAM Act - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia To qualify, the immigrant student would have to meet certain requirements such as: Proof of having arrived in the United States at age 15 or younger; Proof of residence in the United States for a least five (5) consecutive years since their date of arrival. Having graduated from an American High School, or obtained a GED. "Good moral character," essentially defined as the absence of a significant criminal record (or any drug charges whatsoever). |

There is no time frame for this to end. So ten years from now people entering illegally have this same benefit?
How do you prove an individual who is 13 didn't show up last week? If someone is willing to ignore our laws by coming here illegally, why would they suddenly be honest about their arrival date? How do you prove you have lived here for 5 consecutive years since your date of arrival? If I showed up yesterday and I get a piece of paper that has a date that is 5 years old who will know the difference? We have a pathway to become a citizen, why not stick with it? Last I read for someone going thru the legal means had to wait 7 years for this right. Why give away our citizenship? Make it something that has to be earned. I served with guys who were from other countries but were here legally. If they wanted to become citizens I have no problem fast tracking them. To me that is earning it. And why not vote on this buy itself? Why stick it in with a defense funding bill? Politicians know this is a divisive issue, why do they continue to try and cram it down our throats? Just my opinions. Craig |

Here is something that you may all want to read up on.
Todd, Yesterday, Grassfire polled the 37 Senators still undecided about the Dream Act, and found that 7 had changed their position to NO votes. Todd, Dick Durbin's deceitful plan to keep Americans in the dark about the "Dream Act" and quickly pass it through the Senate is failing under withering grassroots pressure! Lacking the needed 60 votes for passage, a desperate Durbin, who opposes the war, is now attempting to use it for political gain by pitching the "Dream Act" amendment as a military recruiting tool to aid in the Iraq War! Note: military recruiting aspects of the amendment were in the bill before the amendment was presented. And laws addressing the military status of immigrants are already on the books. This is just another scam being perpetrated by our unscrupulous lawmakers to push through a massive amnesty plan. ++ Schedule Your faxes today! I need your voice in this debate, especially with this latest move by Durbin. Many on our team report that they cannot get through on the phones. That's no reason to give up. Instead, use the fax machine! Take a moment right now to personally impact this debate and schedule your faxes to the Senate by clicking here. GrassFire.org - Real Impact Online. We must remain vigilant until the vote. That's why your action right now is so vital to the cause. Note-- we have also posted all the fax numbers and phone numbers for these key senators so you can make phone calls and send your own faxes if you choose. ++ Action Item--Forward this message After scheduling your faxes, please take a few additional moments to help Grassfire get more citizens engaged by forwarding this message to 25-30 friends urging them to take action with you by clicking here: GrassFire.org - Real Impact Online. For years the "Dream Act" has languished in committee with no chance of passage on its own. It has taken an underhanded scheme by Democrats, desperate for votes, and open border Senators like Lindsey Graham to bring it to the brink of passage, and it is up to you and me to keep that from happening! Thanks for your amazing support of Grassfire. Steve Elliott, President Grassfire.org Grassfire.net |
