Where would you go???
Hi all, heres the deal and would like some positive feedback and input. I currently live in Ohio and I am Retired Navy, single and no kids. I am thinking about relocating. I have lived in all 4 corners of this Country and a few states in between. I Like to camp, 4wheel drive, some fishing, gtg's, basically anything outdoors and so on. I am really loving my 6.7L so I'm thinking warmer climates for near year 'round activites. I'm not rich by any means but I do ok with my income. I would like some good down to earth suggestions from you guys.

I am kinda partial to Mid TN, but the weather can be a bummer so I would also say Texas is a great place to head out for.

Phoenix, AZ...You can do all that and more all year round...And in the winter if you miss the snow you can dive to Flagstaff (1 hour and 45min away) and go skiing and come home the same day and sit by the pool with a beer...

Thanks guys for the input...The Lone Star State is one Place I'm considering simply because I've never lived there. I hear Austin is a good place to start over. I like Tennessee as well with all the music and fishing and Pigeon Forge is a great place to visit. I like water (Ret. Navy) and think Texas is one of the Places I could enjoy. Texas has good VA hospitals from the rumores I've heard. Anybody have any exp. with a VA in Texas??? I will be Trailering my car full of personal items and what not's so I need a destination before heading out. My timeframe I'm looking at is in the next 2-3 months. Any more Input will be most appreciated.

Being Navy - oh and thank you for your service - TRUELY you guys helped keeped my azz out of total suck.
![]() Texas is everything you want IMO. I HATE Houston. I'm a West Texas country boy. I can't catch a fresh water fish to save my my life but I LOVE the salt water - 5 hour drive from Brady. But man the deer and country are AMAZING. Keep in mind I'm a hard core shooting, deer killing, fishing.....oh wait my fishing skills suck ( beer can keeps getting in the way of the rod ) guy.Austin is cool - a Liberal for me but the Hill Country is AMAZING. San Antanio is nice. My first duty station and loved it. My second was Ft. Hood - that damn place has changed so IMO keep the frig away. Sucks that's my and my wifes home area....... Oh and I'd cancel out Iraq. Damn Sand and bombs always pissed me off.

Thank you for your service as well.
AUSTIN will be building a bigger VA clinic in 2013 I believe which is good for an old fart like me...Amazing Hill country sounds great after living in Flat Lands USA! Austin looks to be fairly close to the coast on the map so Fish 'on!!! It's a place I've never lived before and has some appeal know what I mean? I need a new start and a change of scenery so am def. considering Texas. Thanks for the input and keep your head down.
