Why are there no 98 year fords

Ok I have always wondered this. Some guys have a 97 ford and like myself i have a 99. But there is no forum for a 98. And I dont know of any other ford vehicle being made in 98. Whats up with that?

i believe in 98 they made the f-250 as a light duty body style. it looked like the f-150

yeah that makes sense. I know there was the F-250 light duty and the F-150 7700 series. what was the difference between the two. Obviously the idea didn't work out well cuz they only had them for a year or so

I am not sure on the difference, I only remember because I was working at a place that sold landscaping materials and a guy came in a nd wanted 2.5 yds of crushed stone loaded in his truck. I asked him if he was crazy ,because his truck looked like a 1/2 ton. Needless to say 2.5 yds and the bumper was almost on the ground.

you could still buy 97 MY trucks in 98 but they were coming out with the superduty in 99. I don't know when you were first able to buy an E99 though.

Heard this through the grape vine, not saying its true, just what I've been told.

When Ford redesigned the F-250+ in the late 90's, They looked extremely close to the Dodge Ram, Dodge sued Ford, The lawsuit wasnt settled in time for the new Fords to come out, so Ford used the F-150 style truck for '98 F-250s, during which time they came up with the '99+ body style. Since they "rushed" the '99+ body style, they used a bunch of hodge podge parts to put them together, Which is why we have the early '99 and late '99 super duties.

Again this could be totally wrong, I am not saying this IS what happened, Just what I've been told.

It was a transformation year. You could get a 97 or you could get a 99 but officailly there were no 98 OBS's or NBS's
