What I've been doing lately

A few folks have noticed lately (and brought it to my attention) that I've not been spending as much time online as I used to. I've been a little busy, and now that I've finally got some pictures, I figured I'd show you all what has been taking up my time.

I know, I know.. it's a Dodge. It belongs to a friend. It's a little rough body wise, but we hope to remedy that this winter.

It's a complete budget operation. Grand total of $16000 invested, with some good trading along the way to get some upgraded parts.

This past weekend was a very good one for us... we took the truck to Scheid's Diesel Extravaganza in Terre Haute, IN. Against the odds, we placed 13th on Saturday afternoon, earning a transfer spot into the Saturday night finals!!! We finished 23 out of 26 in that session, but in the process put many trucks back on the trailer that have more invested in the engine that is in our entire truck!!!! This truck will most likely get edited out, but it was at the very least taped for a TV broadcast on the Outdoor Channel!!!!

This is me in the truck resting for a minute on Saturday morning. It had rained, we didn't know if we were even going to get a chance to pull, and it was hot and humid.

It's good valve springs, an ATS exhaust, a scrapped together turbo, a good injection pump and injectors, a good cast cam, a built transmission, and then several "home made" mods like the traction bars, etc. It's still actually got open diffs, with the spiders shimmed very, very tight.

Don't worry.. there were plenty of those consumed at night after the pulling was over. Before pulling, and during the event... well.. that's kinda serious business and they frown on consumption of adult beverages by pullers and/or crew.
