SO I injured myself...sort of..
So, Friday afternoon, I was at my PT session. (Physical Training). I'm on the FEP (Fitness Enhancement Program) b/c I failed the run portion of my test back in April and had to goto the hospital with CRAZY chest pains. Anyway...so we were working Bi's and Tri's and I told my instructor that I thought I was doing a little too much weight. He said I could do it and after my hour of beating on my arms, I was having a hard time even lifting a water bottle. I goofed and got REALLY drunk on Fri night (no pain in the arms at all that night!!!) and SAT morning I got up and couldn't get out of bed!!! I can barely shift my truck into gear! SO...here it is, Monday morning and I'm still in a CRAZY amount of pain. Even typing is painful. I can't move my elbows and they are pretty much locked at a 90 degree angle. So...I got an appointment with the Dr. at 0950 this morning.
I'm not going to ask to get out of work or anything. All I need is some pain pills and a note saying that I can't PT until the pain is gone. With out that note, I am required to attend my PT sessions 4 days a week and I have to do all the normal workout stuff...which includes Pushups (impossible right now) lifting (also impossible), situps (can't bring arms to chest) etc. I could probably do some cardio on the bike...but that is about it. I'll keep y'all updated on my 'condition'. |

So I just got back from medical about 30 mins ago. They tried to give me "sick in quarters" but I wouldn't let 'em. So...they gave me "no PT" ofr two weeks, some muscle relaxers and some anti-inflamitory pills. I have yet to take 'em b/c I hae to take with food...and I'm not going to lunch yet. Doc DID say that I should be "careful" taking the relaxers b/c they 'could' make me loopy!!!! YIPPY!!!! HAPPY DRUGS!!!!
What I was most concerned with is the PT. If I hadn't gone to the DR I would still be required to work out 4 days a week, reguardless of the pain. Thanks Doc!!!

ditty,
If they gave you flexorall or something like that don't drive. Those things will make ya loopy. let someone else drive and have fun as a spectator...ha. I have had the same situation on numerous occasions. hurts like heck but ya almost need someone to help ya stretch those arms and flex them in different directions to loosen them up when the muscles get that tight. hope ya start feeling better. I know that taht kinda pain sucks. Later Rob |

They hooked me up with Robaxin and Naprosyn. 500mg for both.
The problem was that I was lifting too much weight...just like I told my trainer. "Dude, I think this is too much weight. Can we go down 5 lbs?" "Naw man...you can do it." The two weeks of light duty is NICE!!! No more going in to work out with the Navy on my days off. I still have to go and weigh in though. But that's no biggy. I took my first set of pills about an hr and a half ago...and nothing yet. My left arm is feeling better...but my right arm is still REALLY tight! |
