Lane Frost

If you haven't seen the movie "8 Seconds", but plan to, don't read this. I am talking about the ending of the movie.

Over the last couple of years my wife, son, and I have become big PBR fans. (PBR in Dallas TX tonight 6/23). Anyways, I saw "8 Seconds" for the first time yesterday. I was wondering if the ending was true.
Did Tuff Hedeman really ride for longer than 8 Seconds? Never mind found it here:8 Seconds

4) Tuff did ride an extra 8 seconds for Lane at the 1989 National Rodeo Finals.

So that changes my post from a question to a statement(s). The above link helped clear up some stuff about Lane which I thought was pretty cool and how awesome was it that Tuff stayed on that bull for an extra 8 seconds?!!

Just posting my thoughts on a topic, feel free to sound off, especially any bullriders on this site.

Ever Since Tuff rode that extra 8 seconds, the PRCA has not allowed any other rider to ride longer then the 8 seconds. That was the only time that is recorded in PRCA history of some one riding longer then 8 seconds for an event. But it was not done for score it was done in memory of Lane Frost. I think the movie is alright for entertainment. I do own the dvd.

"I got 2 words for you Lane" " Yeah I know I'm a " " No Lane Cowboy UP"

Yeah I guest you could say I seen that movie a few times.

Lane Frost was my hero back in high school, I used to ride back then. "8 Seconds" is one of the few movies that always brings a tear to my eye. BTW another rodeo legend passed away Wednesday, Jim Shoulders, 16 time champion, 7 time bull riding champ.

Sorry to hear that, but hope to learn more about these men. My favorite bullrider is J.W. Hart but he isn't doing to well this year, ranked 30th. Really got interested when TLC had "Behind the Bull" series on. Anyways, just my .02.

Yup, my eyes got a little watery there at the end when Tuff stayed on that bull a little longer.
