Got hit and ran

Well, as the title says, I was involved in a hit and run this afternoon.

First off I'm OK, and (more importantly, jk) the truck's ok'ish.

I was sitting, stopped, at a traffic light and a lat 90's dodge 3500 dually (non diesel) hit me. It wasn't bad, his driver mirror hit my pass mirror and then his big butt fender did a little scraping on my front pass fender, right above the tire. He (well the driver, no positive ID) pulled to the light and stopped, rolled the window down, adjusted the mirror and turned right.
I'm thinking, "Oh, OK, he's going to pull into that parking lot right there." So I get over, turn and guess what, HE DIDN'T PULL INTO THE LOT!!!! So I'm following him, flashing my lights and motioning to pull over. After about 3 min of this, and passing MANY spots to stop, I said F it, and called up the ol' po leeece. The lady, after getting the plate # and specifics, told me to stop and wait for an officer to show up.
I really wanted to keep following this A hole and see what they had to say for themselves, but I'm being all law abidey and stuff, so I stopped like I was asked to do.
Well the officer showed up 10 min later or so, (the first thing he said to me was "Gee those windows sure are dark. You have a prescription for that tint, right?) took a statement, took pics, filed a report, and told me that since I couldn't ID the driver they couldn't cite them unless they find the driver and they admit, WTF!!!!!!


Well sorry for the long post.......... so the damage, a "scratch" on the mirror cap, it rubbed off , and a few SMALL scratches and some green paint on my fender flare (the stock kind) I think the paint will come right off, and the scratches don't look bad at all could have been worse I guess.

BTW - the cop let me off with a verbal warning for the tint

Gotta love the law............This is why more people handle things in their own way because the laws suck. Friggin A&^hole cop worried about damn window tinting catch the Mother F%^*&*r that hit and ran. I get so pissed when I hear stuff like this.

dude that is such bull crap. Just reading this makes me mad because I love the Outlaws and to see some irresponsible a-hole mess yours up and drive off like it was nothing is bull. There is just no justice anymore in this country unless you go and get it yourself. I hope you get everything fixed bud

That's stupid. Can't they track the guy down and see that it is his paint on your truck. How else would you have come up with his tag number?

Trust me guys, it was really hard to just stop and wait for an officer to come take my statement. I would have loved to have a word with this person, and maybe dish out a little justice, in the form of two XL fists . I was just really trying to do the right thing. My age catching up or some thing . Ten years ago there would have been BLOOD.

As for the cop...... yeah he was a little punk. Giving me crap about the tint, not a big deal, I know it's not quite leagal, but come on now, there was someone who had a COLLISION with me, and LEFT THE SCENE.
He (the cop) was a bit of a smart *** at first too, just said a couple things that ticked me off, kind of rude. After he filed the report and came back out of his car he was cool though, I talked to him for a few min.
