Any HVAC guys out there? Heatpump issues

My heatpump is acting strange. If I put it into heat mode the compressor outside comes on but no blower. I turn off the system and set the fan to on and no blower. If I set it to Eheat I get the blower and the heat coils. Seems like the blower is ok since it will come on in eheat mode.

Could it be some control board in the system? or maybe the thermostat on the wall lost its mind?

Dumb question, but does the thermostat have batteries? A friend of mine had problems with hers and the batteries were dead. Just a thought since the newer thermostats have them.

no batteries in the tstat, its powered off the ac unit. I tried to jump the wires in the wall. If I jump common to the fan I get nothing, If I jump common to the compressor it fires up outside. If I jump common to w1 (heat coils) I get the heat coils and the blower. Its looking like a bad control board now. Picking one up today from the shop.

The fix was the control board. $75 and about 15 minutes later I have heat again. Its going to be about 25 tonight and 12 or so tomorrow!

Guess I can add HVAC tech to my resume
