plymouth neon
have a plymouth neon. check engine light came on, the guy that did the diagnostic said it has a vacuum leak. now it smells like gas sometimes when your driving. its also getting bad mileage.its a 2000. i am going to get some quick start and check for the leak but i didn't know if there was something that commonly goes wrong on these cars before i spend too much time on it.

Check the gas cap - my daughter had the same thing happen - we replaced the gas cap and all is good.

the gas cap made the check engine light come on? huh the guy at autozone did the diagnostic but i wasnt there to get the p# the machine came up with. the machine said it had a vacuum leak and the dude told her it was probably affecting her mpg and he was right it sucks fuel around town but does fine on the highway.
