Pack of Camels.....

well, this pack of oh so yummy Camel wide lights will be my last.... I am quitting the habit after 17 years of smoking 1-2 packs a day......I have decided that health wise and financially it is time to kick the habit.....5.40 a pack is just stoopid to me....any body have any advice? I will be quitting tommorrow at 8 am, gonna have the ritual thing you know, throwing them aweay, throwing away the lighters and ashtrays, etc.......I've tried to quit before, and wasn't succesful, but I've gotta do it this time. I'm having trouble breathing in the mornings, and I'm getting to the point where I have the smoker hack in the morning (plus it killed my father at 43). So I think it's time........I'll probably be on the org quite a bit the next week, so if i'm a little sanppy, i apologize in advance! wish me luck and any tips would be appreciated!!!!

Try not to be around people that smoke. Thats what helped me when it comes to snuff.

i helped several of my friends quit.
theres a lot of methods to help, heres a few.

The actual dependancy on nicotene is over and done with after 2 or 3 days, the rest of it is habit. Try eating sunflower seeds to keep your mouth busy. All of the habits you formed while smoking are ones you need to try and avoid. For instance if you wake in the morning and have a cup of coffee and a smoke, cut the coffee for a while, this will also help cut your "want" for a smoke. Just get your caffine intake in other ways. Also forming new habits that dont include smoking will help tremendously.
And yes try to stay away from people that smoke. If your find yourself bored with nothing to do craving a cig, hop on the org and read away your boredom.

Best of luck to you. I have no advice because I have failed twice to quit. Now I'm afraid to try to quit because I don't want to fail again. There's got to be some sort of twisted logic in my outlook, but I can't find it.
I think next time I'm pulling all the stops, hypnosis, chantix, acupuncture, and anything else I can think of.

Just remember to release your grip when they turn blue, otherwise you might get charged with homocide. if you have not taken a cpr course, might want to take a brush up course
