Right to protect yourself

Saw this story when I got into work this afternoon and I hope this lady knows she did the right thing in protecting herself and her home. They played the 911 call and she didn`t want to shoot this guy and even told him she was armed.....so all those folks that think Americans shouldn`t have the right to have guns in their home and protect their family and home suck it..........

im more of a knife guy and ive got a collection of well over a hundred most of which are hidden around the room and house ... ive been wanting to try and get a nice little handgun ... just something to help me sleep at night but nj laws are so ridiculous as far as gun control so i doubt ill be getting one very soon ... but people should definitely exercise their rights ... what r they there for if we dont use them

Even local police said she did everything correct and listening to the call she did not want to shoot him she was begging for him to leave....Hopefully the guys family don`t try some shady crap........

its all in self defense and she has the fact that she called the cops and pleaded with him on her side ... if she just automatically shot him then she may have had an issue in court but she went through steps and tried to avoid shooting him so she would be fine even if they did bring up some gay a$$ charge

This happened about 25 miles from where I grew up.

I listened to the 911 call a couple days ago. I can't believe it took the police 20 minutes to show up! I heard it was a real rural area but still, 10 minutes of being scared out of your mind plus another 10 minutes of staring at the body of the man you just killed in self defense has to be terrible psychologically.

Yea I hope she has family who can stay with her after this cause I think it is going to take her awhile to get over something like this.....

If anybody did everything right AND having a 911 call to back it up, I don't see how the family will have anything to stand on.

She told her intentions - the dispatcher told her she had permission to defend herself. She didn't shoot until he came in. What else could she do?

I definetly would have protected my house and family also. She did do everything correctly. I carry a conceled weapon daily and hope I never have to pull it out. But if someone is out to harm me,or my family, I will not hesitate.
