High Tech Guru's

How do I hook my lap top to my home stereo. That way I can play the music on my lap top through my home stereo. What is needed to do this.

I have seen dj's at parties do this. I have a pig roast to go to at my buddies house. He is wanting me to bring my stereo. But I don't feel like taking 1,000 cd's with me. So I figured if I put the cd's on my lap top. I can just take that. With the stereo.

This is correct. Get this cable, plug the headphone end into your laptop. Plug the other end into either your CD input or Aux input on your stereo select that input and play away.

Thats how ive had it on my laptop for the last 2 years

That's the set up I have too with a 20' head phone extension cable so I don't have to have the computer right next to the stereo. There are wireless systems also but you will spend a lot more.
