Emergency Appendectomy

So I stayed home from work Friday cause I had, what I thought were really bad gas cramps. I tried taking Beano

to no avail. Then I thought about appendicitis (sp?), and search the WWW. There I found my EXACT symptoms and called my Mom to take me to the hospital. I would have called the wife but she doesn't get paid, since her work doesn't offer sick time

. Anyway, I tell the doc what I THINK I have, and he does some investigating around my gut and sends me in for a CT scan. I was right

, and had it removed.

Pretty easy recovery, I got to have French toast for breakfast and a Bison Burger for lunch the next day, and then went to my Dad's for T-bones last night (I had the surgery on Saturday night at 9pm). Anyway fellas, if you're feeling gas cramps and don't feel relief when you fart, and all the pain is in your lower right abdomen, you should get it checked out. The Appendex is a useless organ, but can kill you if it bursts

FYI, the contrast they give you before a CT scan, is like a laxative

Glad your ok man! Sounds like recovery isn't too bad. I had my wisdom teeth out in June and i hurt for 3 weeks. At least it still felt good when i farted.

Yep, supposed to be a pretty easy recovery. Never had to deal with it yet myself. Glad to hear you are ok!

i had the same thing done while i was stationed in South Korea. i had real bad pains, went to the doc, all my tests came back negative, showing no signs of infection. when they went inside, it was real close to rupturing.. fairly easy to recover from. i was a bit sore.. 2 weeks of convelscent (medical) leave and i was good to go. glad youre ok bud!
