For all of those that had followed my "Butch RIP" thread, I had promised I'd make a new thread about Axle, our new puppy. The memory of Butch still hangs heavy in our house, & it's tough to even go out to the backyard & see his crucifix placed in his final resting spot, but Axle has helped me a great deal to try & take my mind off Butch for awhile.
Axle is a 10 week old Jack Russel Terrier. We had gotten him last Saturday(8/8), the day after Butch passed. @ 1st, it was hard to be happy with a new puppy after what had happened to Butch, but Axle's done an excellent job of making us happy & we can tell he's gonna be a great dog & companion! He is a bit on the feisty side & he's in the middle of finishing his baby teething stage(so he's gnawing on everything in sight), but he's fun to play with & is one of the cutest puppies I've ever seen in my life. Believe it or not too, he's starting to catch on to using the bathroom on his pee pads. He's still "hit-or-miss", but the majority of his potty breaks is either outside or on the pads.
Yesterday, my wife had taken Axle to the vet's for his shots & she found out that the pet store owner we had gotten him from is well known for having some of the healthiest puppies to come there. It was no surprise to them that Axle is in excellent shape & he was actually well-behaved considering the circumstances. He also got a flea bath & had his nails trimmed & left the vet's with a clean bill of health!

They also asked us "So you have a Jack, huh? Are you sure you're ready for a Jack", hinting to us that raising a JRT might be a little tricky. With Axle's personality.....I'm 100% sure I'm ready.
So anyway, before I bore everyone to death, here are some snaps of Axle & a quick vid. My camera really sucks, & as fast a Axle can run, the only way to capture him is on a video as trying to get him to sit still in a pic is almost impossible(my wife held him for me....one of the few times I've seen Axle still!). So here he is!: AXLE!

This is what I mean right here, I tried to get a snap of him in the living room but he's lightning quick!

One of the very few times we'll see Axle in one spot!

This is a very tiny taste of how Axle is. He woke up from a nap & isn't anywhere a hyper as he normally is. He starts to come around when my wife wants to take him outside for a pee.
So whaddya think!?
